HalaDog originated during the 2008 race season. We had been throwing around the idea of making "plastic" skid plates to replace the aluminum skids that usually don't fit right, get dented up, and rattle when you are riding (always making you wonder if it is just your skid plate, or if your engine is getting ready to explode...)
We hand-made some prototypes and ran them for a year on our YFZ's, putting the usual pounding on them that goes along with cross country racing. Those parts looked pretty rough at the beginning, but proved to be indestructible.
Using an engineered approach, and keeping in mind the issues with the aluminum skids, we set out to make a robust aftermarket skid plate out of a better material. Our initial offering is for YFZ, but now we offer YFZ, TRX, and KTM.
